Last week on Monday I was driving my old 92' Civic LX sedan deathtrap and got into a car accident. A guy jumped out into my lane quickly in front of me and before I could brake I had already hit him. So instead of fixing the piece of crap I decided to shop around for a new car. I had a budget of 20k to spend and went shopping. My mom came along w/ me the very next day to take a look around to get an idea. She liked Hondas and wound up going to the Norm Reeves Honda Superstore in HB. There we checked out and test drove the new Civic and was not quite thrilled at all. I had already owned a Civic before and did NOT want to drive an updated version of my previous car. Next stop was Toyota where we explored the Corolla S, Matrix XRS, and Scion tC. The Corolla and Matrix felt like girly cars to me so I passed. The tC caught my attention but there was a "6 month" waiting period at every dealer - or so I was told. The last stop of that very day was Heritage Mazda over in HB. They had like only 10 3's on the lot. Most of them base model i's. Yeah, it wasn't exactly a fun drive w/out the little options. Knowing I was getting nowhere I decided to rent a car - a Mazda 6 Wagon by the way - and continue the search the next day. I proceeded to the other Heritage Mazda in Tustin where my friend purchased his RX-8 recently and checked out the 3 again. This time there was a better selection and I was getting good vibes from this place. Me and a couple of friends test drove the 2.3s Hatch and the 2.0 Sedan to compare the differences. Both cars w/ the options I wanted wound up being over 23k. Disappointed that it was way over my budget I had to think about it, until a nice bright Solar Yellow Sedan caught my eye. The salesperson told me that it was the only used one on the lot. The word "used" kinda turned me off, however, the car just kept catching my attention. The sales guy didn't really know too much about the car - he claimed it was a 2.0 when I checked under the hood to find out that it was the bigger 2.3 that I originally wanted w/ all the sweet toys I wanted as well. It came w/ the Xenon headlamps, 6 disc in dash CD, moonroof, alloy wheels, fog lights, and various other things...all for 19,995. It had only 6000 miles on it and it felt like it was garaged and well kept. The previous owner decided she wanted a hatch instead and traded in the car. So considering my budget...I was really lovin the car. So after thinking about it overnight I went in w/ my mom the next day and worked out a deal. So now my very first "new' car - the very car I've been looking at for the past 6 months and been thinking about one day owning - is now sitting in my driveway. I took some pics with my camera phone so the quality isn't exactly great, but you get the idea.

Thanks, I don't know what happend. I started out wanting to buy replacment speakers (300.00 max) and all of a sudden this money monster came out! The CAI, and exhuast and of course the famous DAVEB rings are on the way as we speak! DAMB THAT MONSTER!!!
