New Mazda 3, have questions.

Hey! Whats up.

Well, I'm new to the board, and just bought a new 2005 Mazda 3 two weeks ago. I got the Sport GT edition, leather, sun roof, A/C, power everything (You guys know what I'm talking about) I've been lurking around here since then, and have come up with a few questions.

I've read a few posts talking about a HP governor? (This post) What exactly is this? I've heard of a speed governor, but not a HP governor. What’s the point in placing 160 HP engines in a car if your only going to limit it to 120 HP?

Secondly, on the LCD display, If you look closely at it I've noticed a few display functions that I cant seem to bring up (Probably because I don’t have the options installed). What are they, and is there a way to get them up and running?

Third, what mods are there out for this car? I'm going to do a Google on it in a few moments, but I doubt I'll find all the information that your guys can provide. (Yes I'll also be searching the forums as well)

Thanks!

that thread was full of a lot of misinformation. There is no such thing as a HP limiter. The engine has a speed limiter but we believe it to be based on engine load and gear. Several people report the limiter to run out at different points but all within the same general range.

The LCD display is lifted from the 6 and RX8....those features do not exsist on your car. Call off the search for them.

As far as mods go you're pretty muh high and dry right now. Catback exhaust, Intake, flywheel and VERY soon the HiBoost turbo kit. Other than that you'll need to be patient. New car = wait time for parts.

I wouldn't think about modifying your car until you exceed the warranty. Why break that, and then if SOMETHING d oes break on your car, you won't beable to fix it?

Heh.. I thought about modifying my car as soon as I get it (well a cpl weeks after), but decided against it. I have a 50k mile warranty or 4 yr warranty. I'm waiting for that.

Congrats on your new car. I'll be getting my 05 hatch 3 tomorrow morning

well you could do some basic stuff without ruin the warranty, like exhaust or maybe intake.

M3, mods void your warranty end of story. Don't get me started on the warranty stuff.... All you need to know is: "If you can't pay to fix your car yourself, don't mod it".

Your transmission broke?!?!?! Do you drive stick? Wow, if they covered it then thats insane if you weren't charged nothing without a fight. My car is new but I do have a little complaint about the synchros on it, it seems rather rough shifting into 1st and 2nd, the rest it slides right in. I'd love the car to be perfect but I'm usually the type of person who just let things go sometimes... should I bug 'em about it though?
