New 3s
I am very new to this and this is my first Mazda. I am really loving my new 3s.
I have a few questions though.
I would like to start doing some upgrades but I am not sure where I should begin.
I have done a lot of work on older Jeeps but I know that this is a totally different arena.
I am guessing that intake would be a good starting point but I am a bit leary of messing with my warranty. Any suggestions would be great.
I have a 3s 5 speed with the sports package, ABS and God only knows how many flippin air bags.

it's either 8 or 10 as far as the airbags go. hiboost http://www.hiboost.com/index.htm is supposed to release a turbo kit for the 3 in like a month or something. I don't know about an exaust but it will probably come out soon. The 3 is very popular and I have no doubt that upgrades will start to come along.

Hello from Sin City!!
I just got my new Mazda 3 a few days ago and love it. It is a white 5door with manual transmission and all the standard equipment.
For any of you who are looking at picking one up, definately go to a few dealerships. I had to go to all 3 Mazda dealerships in the Las Vegas area. I was told at the first one, 2K above MSRP, the second MSRP, and the last one I negotiated with them down to 100 above invoice.
I was in the car business for 4 years and there is a reason why I waited until the 31st of August to buy the car. Month end is a great time to make a deal, most dealers want to push out the last few units to make their numbers.
I am looking at putting some very slight cosmetic items on the car. The short antenna I have seen on some vehicles gives the 3 a great Euro look.
Any other suggestions for add ons? internal or external that will still keep it looking clean and low key? Don't really want to mess with anything too complicated or expensive.
Aloha!!

i would go with window tint, and then wait and see what happens about cai's (cold air intakes) maybe some stiffer springs or some nicer rims? since this is the first model year the 3 still doesn't have many "upgrades" out yet, though kenstyle has a nice body kit, i think you can buy it one peice at a time and the grill insert is pretty sweet.... the turbo will deffinatly void the warrenty, though i have heard rumors about a mazda speed turbo, if this does happen it won't be as powerfull as highboost, though it won't void the warranty. any mazda speed product will keep the warranty in check, anything else you have to be carefull, new car dealers like to void them for the simplest things it seems....
