Mazda 3 pistons
Does anyone know the process of putting in new pistons? Ive been searching for new pistons and found some, but I know theres a process to go through in putting them in, and parts you need to put them in? Any help?

you have to complete remove the engine, tear it apart and put it back together if you are confident enough to do that, its pretty easy friendly recommendation, get a shop to help you with that, its not the end of the world but you will need special tools to re calibrate the pistons timing and probably new jackets...

t23u is right, you don't have to remove the engine but makes work a lot easier, in a Pontiac GT Engine I disambled ( V6 ) I removed the carter removed the screws from the connecting rods, dismount the Crankshaft to extract the pistons from below and oh surprise!!! the freaking engine block prevented 2 pistons from being pull from below, so i had to remove the headers and the heads, and push em out with a rubber hammer, then pull'em from the top, disconect the tranny and pull that bastard out of the engine bay, that way you can work in your engine in he confort of your livingroom watching Gilmore Girls reruns instead of under the car (Y)
by the way t24u... how's the weather up there?

Yup, you can pull the pistons out of the top, that's the easier method after disconnecting the rod bearings from the crank shaft. It's really not as easy as it sounds though.
The weather? Been half raining, half snowing. Temps have been in the 25-35 F range. Getting colder, but not too bad yet really. Normally we have a ton of snow on the ground already, the rain today melted what little we had. Winter is off to a slow start I guess.
