Unhappy made a mistake

Sorry for my weird way of writing im writing from my phone. My problem is the following... I used to have a old piece of crap car that broke down on me like crazy, so I was in the hunt for a brand new car. At first I wanted a Ms6 but then a Camry. I am 17 years old so I have no credit. After all, I ended up leasing a Chrysler Sebring 07. I was desperate to get a car and my mom which gave me the credit didn't want to check out the Mazda dealer. So yes I bought a car thats is a good car, but I always wanted a turbo or younger looking car, and now I cant get rid of this one. The payments for the lease are kind of high for what i seen on the web, then again I dont mind paying is just that I am paying for something not done for my age or looks and performance needs. I have done research about how to get off this car to get me the MS3 with my dads better credit. I have no option but to keep the car for 2 years until the lease is done. I dont think anyone will take my lease since my car is tinted and it takes money to remove that in case the car will be returned to the dealer after the lease is done. Also, compared to others, my car pays about 90 dollars more than others a month on the trade a lease website, so its hopeless. My other option is to re-lease the car to pay less. I seen some sites that offer this type of option. My 3rd option which is not recommended by me and I bet no one will recommend, is to get gap insurance and total the damn thing. leave it outside in a storm or something or go in a dangerous road. Then again, I don'T know how all this would work out. I know there are ways to get rid of this car, not "ur screwed". What can you guys say to help? I would appreciate some good feedback. I am geting frustrated I even dream having this car is that bad!

My advice:

You are young. You made a mistake. Learn from it and live with it.
It's called growing up.
Hopefully you'll make a better decision next time.

Trying to 'fix it' by burying yourself in more debt, or worse--FRAUD comes to mind--
will only make things worse.

Dude just stick it out for a while longer .. you won't regret it later on I promise you. Being 17 and having a fast car is NOT good!! Getting tickets prior to you being 18 and having a full license is the worse thing you can do, I started driving when I was 16 and got my license revoked until I was almost 18 cuz of my stupidity. I got 2 speeding tickets in one month, and YOINK away goes my license for almost 3 years. Not to mention that I'll be paying SR-22 insurance until I'm 21 (only 10 months left!!) which is NOT very cheap.

So MY advice is to stick it out for a little while longer until you can actually afford to get in some trouble with the law. Cuz let's face it, youth + turbo = temptation = tickets & lots of $$

Besides, you still have a brand NEW car that you're driving at 17 so at least you're not driving an absolute piece of crap you know?

Well you guys are right... I shouldn't have mentioned totaling my car since of course is fraud. Is just the feeling I have about the car. I dont want to destroy my car payments of course. Car is great, but what pisses me off is the fact that in the lease website I could get a BMW for less than what I pay! I mean, there was nothing I could do about my moms credit so I was going to pay alot anyways. I dont like used cars, most of the times you pay more for an used one rather than leasing because repairs. I have learned that most people sell their cars because they got problems. has happened to friends and family 100% of the time. What can I do to pay less then? I dont mind paying the same or a little more for a car I have researched for months and know it would be really fun for me. Well there is always a reason why you dont get what you want maybe im not mature enough for a turbo of course. Im thinking of offering the car to my mom or family member. No fraud, if they continue the lease I dont mind. Lets see what happens and hopefully Ill choose the right decision. About the tickets, well, it is tempting. Im going to be 18 in 2 months... lets see what I get for me 18th bday.

what krayziefox said... too young for a turbo. Too young even for a brand new car! Anyways... 2 yrs ain't that much so stick with it and by the end of your lease mazda will come up with even better cars (hopefully) so you can get what you want then. But even then, personally, I don't think your credit will be much beter since you'll be still too young. Just think of it positively. There ain't that many 17 year olds driving around especially in their own brand new car. Drive carefully and be safe out there! Good Luck!

next move?

The smartest move for you to make right now is to keep the car until the lease is done. Save every penny you can during the lease period so when you turn it in you can have some money to put down on a nicer vehicle that you'd enjoy driving.

I know you don't want to hear it but you are stuck with it for a while. Leases are nice if you know what you're getting into. They are designed to be traded out of every few years or gotten into cheaply temporarily.

If it were me I'd have just bought an old toyota or honda beater and paid cash for it and saved my money (car note) for a downpayment in a year or two. Add the saved cash to whatever few hundred dollars the dealer gives you on trade and you're in your MS3 easily.

p.s. There are great ways to establish your credit. I suggest going down to your local lending institution (I prefer credit unions) and asking them to help you build your credit.

Yea man, start building that credit. I started with a $1500 personal loan on a computer when I was 15, then a $500 Visa card from my credit union (stay away from banks .. you'll get raped) and it helped tremendously when I went to buy my Protege5. Having good credit also saves you money on car insurance, a lot of insurance companies take into consideration your credit score as well when writing the policy, and being a young male driver I can tell ya that **** ain't cheap at all!!

Has anyone taken a look at the Evo X yet? That car looks siiiick!! There's some mixed feelings out there I personally love it! The Evo IX was sweet but I wasn't so hot on the compact boxy look, whereas the new Evo X looks so freakin sweet!

I can't really speak for the your Sebring since it's new and probably drives quite comfortably, but from my experience, driving cars that you don't really like or are downright crappy makes you appreciate it even more when you finally sit down and cozy up behind the wheel of the auto you KNOW you love because you've done all your research, shopping, *saving* and day-dreaming.

My first car was an '86 Subaru XT (anyone remember those? looked like a rolling wedge of cheese) that was a 5-spd without power steering. From there I graduated to a multi-colored '86 Honda Accord LXi hatchback that did have power steering (I got it painted one color, too). The XT I didn't have to pay for since it was my dad's hand-me-down, but the Accord I did pay for. And for $1100 I felt it was a bargain, especially since I never had to do any major maintainence to it (albeit the paint). From then I was able to drive it around for a few years and save up money and build credit. Fast-forward to June '03, and there I was driving a brand new sparkling clean silver P5 off the lot with a managable loan in my OWN name and it felt soooooo goooooooooooooood. Fast-forward again to last November and there I was, shedding a tear for my beloved P5 as I traded it in for a brand new Mazda3.

My advice... learn from this experience, save save save, and build good credit. I've found that once you've established the credit and banks and lending institutions see that you are a fiscally sound person willing to accept the responsibility of some debt in trade for something that will help you improve the quality of your life (i.e. house, car, education...) they'll be more than happy to lend you the cash! But remember, banks are always out to make a buck for themselves so they won't be pulling for you once you have the loan. You'll have to show them who's in control!

Personally, I don't like the look of the grill. Other than that it looks nice. One thing tho... why are the left and right tires different?
