Hello all. I have a few questions in an effort to obtain knowledge before purchasing a Mazdaspeed3.

- Can the Xenon HID be installed on the Sport model or is it only limited to the Grand Touring model?

- Can the navigational unit be installed in the Sport model by means of dealer?

- Does the Sport model have the six disc in-dash with mp3?

- What are the major differences in options between the Sport and the Grand Touring model?

- Will there be a 2008 Mazdaspeed3?

I have looked at the Grand Touring model but that may be a little bit over my price range. Not having the greatest credit in the world can hurt you is the truth but I have a nice amount of money to put down a Mazdaspeed3. I am not in need of navigation system, although my girlfriend believes I should get it as I am horrible with directions. I appreciate any and all information in advance and I look forward to being around for quite some time. Thanks once again.

Anything can be installed if you have enough money. If you buy OEM parts from the dealer then you'll be looking at around $2,000 for just parts. If you want the HIDs it's much better to just get the GT up front and finance the cost of the extras.

Again if you have the money..... I doubt any dealer is going to even try to tackle this job. To add the NAV unit you have to remove the entire dash board and replace the wiring harness for the car where it comes through the firewall. You'd be far better off spending your ~$3,000 on an aftermarket GPS unit as the OEM one is reportedly not as good as many of the standalone units.

Neither the sport, nor the GT come with a 6CD/Mp3 player. Both cars come with a Auxiliary Console Input (ACI) mounted in the armrest. This allows you to plug in any Mp3 player with a 3.5mm cable. Many dealers will say the car has Mp3 capability and actually be referring to the ACI.

There is an available 6CD/Mp3 player that is a Dealer Only Accessory, meaning that you can get it from the dealer but no cars come with it. It can be ordered with or without Bose/NAV, so you can use it on any trim level 3. If you wanted you could negotiate the price of that stereo into your sale price and then you can finance the extra $450 it will cost you so you're not paying it out of pocket.

-6CD (part of package for sport)
-NAV (part of package for GT, not available on sport)

That's all I can think of, though there are probably some other differences.

Well if the GT is out of your price range then it is. The only thing you could do is save up some money for a bigger down payment, and try to improve your credit while you do that. Like I said about the NAV system, you'll probably be better off in the long run with buying a separate system that you can take with you wherever you want. It's cheaper, it probably works better, and then you get full use of the huge glove compartment.

yeah, w/o the navigation system I can fit my whole arm in the glove box. I'm not very tall to begin with but its pretty sweet. First thing my friend said about was that I could smuggle mexicans in there

Hey, I really appreciate the information guys and I think I am going to work towards a GT w/o the navi. The navi looks great but I know it will become annoying afterwhile. I will be around in the near future when everything hits the fan so look out for me. Thanks again. Later.
