Hello everyone. I recently got a 2018 Mazda 3 Sedan 2.0L Sport at the beginning of this year (which I plan to keep after my lease is over). I have only just started getting into modifying cars in general just a couple months ago (Kind of out of the blue too.) I've looked into several types of additions to my car and I want to see if I can go further.

At this point, I've only gained slight knowledge of different types of performance modifications: ECU flashing, exhaust, turbo, NOS, Filter/Intakes, Suspension, any possible weight reduction, and a couple other things. I do want to mainly focus on performance and ever so slight attention to exterior modifications. My goal is to try to max out the performance for the type of car I have and try to achieve as close as to this car:
The next thing I want to go for is any more knowledge that you guys can be able to help me with (Anything is appreciated) that can help my car improve its performance (and why would be helpful too.)

Currently, I only have a 69 Series K&N Air Filter. Other than that, I would like to add a few more things such as a 160hp turbocharger and flashing my ECU, but I don't know what type of turbocharger I would need to fit. I've done some measurements just for the turbo itself and the space I have. I have found two spaces (area behind the foglight and under the filter on the left side if you are facing the engine) nearly identical in size (roughly 8in x 16in x 8in), and I can possibly put the turbo and intercooler in those two areas. For the ECU, I haven't found any software or a compatible workshop for the car. I also do not have any knowledge of what performance chips do (or any other variation of that sort of upgrade.)

Basically starting the questions, has anyone added a turbo to their 3rd gen car and what do I need to do to flash the ECU (what can I do)?
