^^ Haha, yeh same here. The speed limits are 60mph on most highways here, which means everyone goes at least 10 over

Really, well here in the Midwest they use radar and laser in every little town and I rarely go more than 5 to 10 over the limit to avoid a $200 ticket.

Then there are the deer which are all over the place, we hit about 25,000 of them each year!

Radar detectors legal or illegal where you live? If they're fine, maybe pick up a Cobra.

I got 260 on one full tank.. why is it so low? Is it because I just bought it? The car still has less than 200 miles on it. Is there such thing as a breaking in period? Do you think I will get better gas mileage down the road?

Thanks

Break in period is most likely affecting early mileage. Give the car a few weeks to get everything... well, broken in, haha.

When I broke the car in, it was around 26mpg and around 280 to 320 miles per fill-up. Pretty much the same now but definitely an improvement, around 300-360 per fill-up. I've been using the Lucas fuel-injector cleaners every 4 fill-ups or every month and the car is performing well so far.

Plus, I always fill it up with premium gas. The engine sound is definitely better than filling it up with regular gas.

Do we really have to put premium gas in mazda3? I mean, yeah I love my car and all, but it's not infiniti or BMW or even Mercedez. Does it really HAVE to use premium gas? Can I just put the mid grade? And what's the worst could happen if I put the cheapest one? I personally will not put the cheapest gas, but before I traded in my 04 mazda6 for the 07 mazda hb gt, I always put the cheapest one on my mazda6 since I don't know we're required to put premium gas. And it ran perfectly fine. So, anyone?

If it isn't the turbo model you don't need to use premium fuel... unless they changed the ECU flash since 04 and now suddenly you need premium fuel.
