wow this thread help alot in my decision of finding my next car. I was having a tug-a-war between getting another rsx-s or a try something new like a MS3 or MS6. I currently own a 88 RX-7 TII which i am working on. Boostd7 prolly recognize this user name in rx7club. Also recently i go into a bad accident and total my rsx-s thus im in the market looking and researching for a new car.

So what are you leaning toward brody?
|
im leaning toward the ms3 because of the price and practicality of it.
|
Awesome, keep it in the Mazda family! Remember every extra dollar Mazda makes could potentially be another dollar for rotary engine development, and development of the next RX-7!
I do have a bit of a problem with the space in the back seat of a MS3, I'd like another couple inches back there. I guess since you've owned the RSX-S before, front wheel drive and torque steer won't bother you as much as it does me ... but still go drive one. They're a fantastic offering and I give huge kudos for Mazda having the balls to release it. Personally I'm leaning toward the MS6 because I like the feel of AWD, and it does have a bit more back seat room ... and I have other cars for ultimate performance  |

I went with the MS3 anyway :D |
If you fellas don't mind, can you please post the price tag you bought your MS3 or MS6? I too am in the hood for either cars, but if the dealers selling the speed cars have a tendency for 'unfair' pricing, then I think I might just get a used '06 STi. Thanks in advanced. I too am a Mazda fan and previously owned some 1st gen RX-7s, but now currently have an RX-4 and Miata projects, so I also like to keep it within the Mazda family.

i prefer the mazdaspeed6, still the 3 is a nice car

i was wondering if the ms3 has a different feel of stick shift... cause i heard that its pretty different. i mean i know that every car is different but im new to stick and i am planning on getting a ms3.
(does anyone know if mazda is going to release more colors in the 08 models?) |
I paid $22,850 (sticker price) for my bare bone ms3 in PA a month ago. I love it, but have to admit the shifter is a bit notchy compared to the 06 civic Si I owned before it. I'm not sure how it compares to the ms6 though.

(does anyone know if mazda is going to release more colors in the 08 models?) The shifter is rather squishy, just a little bit vague as well. Clutch pedal is firm, but I'd hesitate to really call it heavy - just right for a sporty daily driver. Don't worry about getting an MS3 as your first MT car, it's not going to be punishing by any means. Also, here's a tip if you've never driven stick before - go to a parking lot and practice getting the car going without using the gas at all. I had a buddy of mine try that and he was actually quite good at driving stick after just a couple days. Most of my friends who I taught with the traditional "just drive it" method took at least a week to get really decent, so that's a marked improvement. |
Does anyone know if Mazda will stretch the production for the Mazdaspeed 3 up until 2009?
|
Hard to say. The MS6 has been going for a few years, but the MS Protege didn't last very long at all.
All depends on the dollar I guess. |
Yeah you're right. It's been more than 3 years for the MS6 already. Let's hope it goes up until 2010 the most because I can't justify getting another car as of right now lol.
|
Well, the dealer I was talking to said the 3 is doing alot better than the Pro. Hopefully that trend will show on the Mazdaspeed side of things too.
