dying!?!?!?!?

i have an '04 mazda 3, auto with 35k on it. when i am in drive and stopped at stoplights, my rpms go to about 750 and then the engine/car shakes a little bit then dies after about 10 seconds. the only solution i have for this is to put it in neutral, and keep just enough pressure on the gas peddle to keep the rpms at or just above 1000.
why the hell is my car doing this? spark plugs? fuel pump? please help!
or should i just go to the dealer

If still under WTY - bring it to a dealer. If not - check the spark plugs. They are either bad or loose. If it's not the plugs - i donno... Good luck!

My mom's Tribute Had a similar problem, it couldn't hold idle.

It ended up being something related to the MAFS, that needed to be cleaned.

Take it to the dealer!

Yikes. Let us know how it goes so that if someone else has that problem, they'll know that it's possibly that.
Make sure they replace whatever's broken, exercise that warranty. =)

Have the dealer check the battery as well. If it is faulty, it may not be powering the car properly. The reason it would stall at stops is because the alternator slows down when you let go of the petal.
