On my 2004 mazda 3 the Compass and outside temp display are on the rearview mirror with homelink. I see some cars display the temp on the right of the radio screen. Was that an option?

 

In the US the ambient temp. wasn't an included feature until 2006 even though it was standard in other countries at the time. For '04-'05 models you had to get the auto-dimming mirror to get the temp/compass display.
