Well, any chance you may have had of getting a warranty claim will be gone unless you delete your original post ASAP. If you think Mazda doesn't monitor the forums, you are mistaken...

BTW, I believe the warranty on the clutch is 12K miles - at least it was on the RX-8. I had mine replaced at 44K. My previous clutch on my 2nd gen RX-7 TII lasted 140K miles. Maybe they just don't make 'em like they used to.

1. watch the language. This isn't that kind of forum.

2. They have a 12k mile "anything goes wrong" warranty that will/should cover your clutch.

You need to explain to your service manager that you were told anything would be fixed or adjusted within 12k miles at no charge. If they deny it still then you need to tell him to let his techs know that they are turning away work that feeds their families in order to try to get more cash out of you.

Let them know you'll be taking it over to another mazda dealership who wants to let mazda pay their techs for working like they're supposed to. Then you need to call mazda customer support and issue a formal complaint about their refusal to perform promised work.

How does a clutch go bad in 4000 miles? Was this on a 3 or an MS3?
Either 1) it had to be defective or 2) it was severely misused. Seems to me that should be evident when they take it apart to replace.
