car won't start - please help
Hello,
having problems starting my car. the service centers can't seem to figure out the problem but they seem to know how to use the debit/credit card machines.
Mazda 3 (automatic) - year 2008.
What has been attempted to fix the problem:
replaced the starter
replaced the battery
replaced the ignition starter
approximately : $800.00
towing approximately: $250.00
4 different diagnostics:
- 1 by car dealership and found nothing
- 3 other diagnostics by 2 different popular automotive repair centers and found nothing.
approximately: $400.00
What happens when I try to start the car:
- car doesn't turn over.
- no noise to indicate any problems.
- car electronics seem to be fine as all initial indicators appear very strong(radio works).
note:
on my last tow the driver for safety reasons turned on all the lights . while towing the car to the garage(half way) he noticed in the review mirror the front lights suddenly appeared brighter.
run down of last tow
- Thursday morning the car was towed.
- at the garage we tried starting the car the car started.
- repair center ran diagnostics and found nothing.
- moved the car out of the garage and parked it in the parking lot to try and recreate the problem for a later time.
- after lunch they tried starting the car and it wouldn't start.
- they figured it was the ignition switch and replaced the switch
- i drove the car home.
- friday i had no problems starting the to go to wrok.
- had no problems coming home from work.
- round 7pm I when out to start the car to go out.
- car won't wouldn't start!
- car won't start in neutral either
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated

Mazda dealers "traced the fault to corrosion on the starter terminal and the shifter cable. Cleaned starter connection and trans connection"
Hope this helps anyone else with similar problem.
