Brand new Mazda3

Hey all,

This is my first post. Just thought I would let you know that just yesterday I took delivery of a brand new Mazda 3i. So far I'm loving every minute of it. Up until last week I was the proud owner of a 2002 Mazda Protegé5. That was until the black ice. I walked out of the accident without a scratch so kudos to Mazda for making one hell of a safe car. And to all who don't wear their seatbelts, let this be a lesson to you.

So far I do like the 3 better than the Progegé if only for the fact that my 5 was automatic and the 3 is a stick. I made a mistake buying the automatic although at the time it seemed like a good idea. Once it warms up a little and there is no danger of ice (i'm a little freaked out not as one might expect) I'll get a chance to really open her up on the curvy back roads and see what I think.

Me too!

Well, on December 14 my Protege, 4 dr XL, also protected me in an accident. some AH was following too closely in front of me, and fortunately I gave him extra room. I managed not to hit him when he hit the guy in front of him, but before I cold pat myself on the back, I got plowed into from behind. Walked away, but it turns out my Mazda was a write off. I must say, it didn't look anything like the photo staring this thread, and when they told me I was a bit surprised.

However, i much prefer the Mazda3. It handles and feels much more like my old 1990 protege - much more zoom zoom than the '02. Mine is the GT with the GFX package, and so far [300 kliks] so good.

This is my first post, so hi to all from Toronto.

best,
Michael
