A week ago I bought this mazda 3 hatchback 2006, immaculate, but the back handle litterally snap out of it's place.

Why?

It is poorely ingenirededded! or not, just Kinders Toys quality lock accessory!

Anyway, Short story and the fix

Open from inside

The emergency trunk open and balancing is a cheap plastic from the inside failed, ( Pop the Round thing in the middle of the inside trunk panel) just look at the pieces and you can rotate them with a flat srcew driver and open it! Analyse the balancing if it fail and use your srew driver instd!

Fixing

Once it's Open remove the plastic insides covers, Starting by the center ligth piece, sides to middle, then remove the side covers, from the back part first, they go one into they other, they clip, and then lift the head of the small retaining pin, pull it out and "pry" the cover it will pop, Then pop the rear cover!, It pop's easy!

Opposite order for montage

The handle sit's in the two screws that you see from the outside. Take the handle out, take a 1/4 sive drill bit, drill the two sitting hole with it, take a 1/4 size, 1/2 inch long stainless steel screw with 2 washer inside, 1 out, and the end bolt. (Dip the washers, screws and bolt in rust proof buy at CT if your a maniac, I'm not haha, I did)

Put the hole thing back together in reverse mode and it won't fail like this again!!!

The Only thing I found on the net was on this site and the Lady took it to the Dealer !!!
