Antenna needed for FM reception?

Hey guys-

Just bought my 3 used on Saturday and I questioned why it didn't have the antenna screwed into the base on the back of the roof. I was told since I have the Navigation and satellite radio that I don't need it?? Well when I "seek" through FM stations, the radio never finds a clear station and I know thats not right as I am in an area that has a ton of clear, stereo FM stations. Can anyone confirm whether or not I DO in fact need the antenna piece that screws into the base? I am also not a satellite radio customer so I don't use that part of the radio. The navigation and all works fine but I don't seem to get ANY clear FM stations.

Any help/insight is greatly appreciated!

Thanks all!
