It's quite possible, you just need to get a H7 HID kit. As to 55w vs. 35w where do you do most of your driving? If you're mostly in a city or other well lit area then 35w should be fine. If you drive in rural areas then the 55w will be a great benefit.

Also be aware that the projector in the halogen headlamp isn't nearly as good as the projector in the HID headlamp. It has a fuzzier cutoff, a narrower beam, and will have "hot spots" in comparison to the cleaner, wider and more even beam in the HID projector. If you have the time/money you'll get much better performance retrofitting actual HID projectors into the OEM headlights vs. using a HID kit in the halogen projectors....... that said you'll still get a performance bump with the kit.

I have the 06 version and left the halogen projectors, for other drivers sake, the hid projectors were just too bright...

Here is a link to a fairly cheap HID kit. A buddy of mine that I work with purchased from here and has had no problems with them. They've been in his blazer for about 2 yrs now.

i got one off of ebay about 6 months ago... still going strong.

completely plug and play! i got the 8500k ones, and am still amazed at how crappy the factory ones were.

the best part... they were only 55 bucks, and shipped overnight!

id go with an hid kit, it will work just fine in you halogen projectors, as icspots you can retro fit if you want, but not necessary, also nothing over 6000k because after that the light output drops greatly and its looks too ricey IMO

I believe the Non Speed3 GT has HID's already from the factory. Why not go that route?

Unless you can find a used set of factory HIDS for cheap I would stay away from that idea. From mazda the bulbs, ballasts, and headlamp assemblies will run you a few thousand bucks. The ballasts are somewhat incorporated into the head lamp assembly.

I've installed a few kits myself. It's all just plug and play, not much to really wire. Trickiest part is finding where to mount the ballasts and run your wires so that everything looks clean.

I just ordered a set from them, they left Hong Kong this morning at 4 AM.
I got the link to them from a guy on the Ford truck site I play Forum cop on and he has 3 sets, 1 he has had for about 3.5 years.
