I was thinking about going from 17's tires to 18's and was wondering if they will fit fine on a 2005 Mazda 3 Sedan or will there need to be modifications? I am thinking they will be fine but I just want clarification.

 

18's will fit fine. I just put 18's on my 3i, and still had romm to drop it almost 2 inches with lowering springs.
