08 mazda 3 s hatch help

08 mazda 3 s hatch help
i bought a 08 mazda 3 s hatchback 3 weeks ago. it came with a cold air intake looks kindof homemade since they drilled a hole in the top of the air intake hosing for the vacuum line anyways my question/problem is this. everytime when i first start up the car it idles up and down but after about 30 seconds to 1 minute the idle starts to idle almost completely normal and i wanted to know what is causing this issue? i thought about replacing the MAF sensor or buying a AEM cold air intake and see if this would work better or not but im not sure so i dunno if i wnna spend all that money not knowing if that is the exact problem or not. can someone please help me?
ALSo i have anothing problem with my windshield wipers. when my headlights are on my front wipers wont work unless i use the mist control of the wiper and reAR wiper still works fine.. when i shut off my headlights my front wipers will work just find and no they arent set for auto. ive tried every position when the headlights were on and the front wipers still wont work just the rear wiper and the mist wiper on the front wipers can someone please help me out with these issues thank you..
im use to honda's. this is my first mazda that i have owned.

Thats why you dont buy a car that has been "Modded" before...because who knows what the Previous Owner did to it!...
Sounds like your MAF Sensor is messed up...Did you try cleaning it?...and resetting the ECU???
I dunno about your wiper issue....Might to get a Professional to look at it.

I took off my maf sensor and blew air through it and didnt make a difference but i noticed when i play with the plunger for the iac itll idle fine for the next 3 start ups then after that it goes back to what it did before. I didnt realize anyone modded this car before i thought they just installed a cai. I got it from a car dealership but of course car was as is no warranty. I disconnected my battery cable to reset the ecu and it ran like crap till my engine light came back on then it started running the same way
