Snow tires for my 3

Any suggestions
Does anyone know the Mazda part number for the steel rims to put snows on?

My husband did the homework.

Mazda part number 9965-40-6560 for 16 inch steel rims.
Bridgestone Blizzak WS50 205/55R16 for snow tires.

He bought me four of each..............Isn't he a romantic devil.

Hey,

I am curious about the 16" rims on the car. Am I mistaken - I thought it was not good to run 16" on the 3 - in place of 17" ?

I looked everywhere for 17" steelies to put my snow tires on and ended up (albeit a little excited) buying new 17" chrome rims for summer and leaving my alloys on with the winter snow tires.

Btw, I am loving the information on this forum!

why would 16 be bad if it's stock for the GT? you just can't go 15s on the GT because of the disk is too large.

FM,

That is what I wasn't sure about - I think the 17 is stock for the GT

nope. 16s are stock on the GT. GT GFX comes with 17s. Trust me on this one.

Ah I get it (I was sure I wasn't a total moron!) - I have the GFX GT and it came with 17" (I guess I should have mentioned that earlier!)

So now, (I realize this may be a stupid question) - I cannot run 16" on the GFX GT in place of the 17"?

you can run 16s on GT GFX since the brakes for GT and GFX are the same. GT just cannot run 15s Hope that clears it for ya.

FYI I am running 16" alloys on my Mazda 3 with 205/55HR16 Blizzak tires and they are the same diameter as my 17" 50 series stock tires are. The stock tires are a death wish in any snow at all and the Blizzak's have the best traction I have ever seen in snow here in Wisconsin.

New poster here! I have a 2005 Mazda 3 five door and so far it is a great little car and almost as much fun to drive as the Miata my wife drives in the summer.
