Hello, I'm new to this forum and just got a 2005 3 last week. These cars a totally new to me so I got a lot of learning to do (so go easy on me this is my first Mazda that has pistons my other is an 88 TII). How can I tell if I have GT brakes? Thanks.

 

is ur car a GT or GS?

 

The 3s has the same brakes as the 3s grand touring. The GT isn't a performance trim, it's a "luxury" (as much luxury as you can have in a compact) trim.

The 3i has smaller rotors than the 3s.

Do you have a 3i or a 3s?

 

I bought it used, I don't have the original window sticker so I don't know my trim level, all I know its got the 2.0, 5 speed, 16 inch wheels, cloth interior, cruise, power windows and locks, power mirrors; no ABS, side curtain airbags, etc. Is there a way I could tell from the VIN? I know it sounds bad not knowing whether its an S or an I, but that why I'm asking this car is a completly blank/new slate for me.

 

if it's a 2.0 then it's a I model
