Angry Rythmic Tapping! Please Help

All,
I am completely frustrated. I have taken it to 2 different dealerships and i havent gotten any good response. I have a 08 3i Touring and whenever i get off the freeway and stop at a light, the engine dips below the 333RPM lines and shakes for a second and i get this ryhmic tapping noise. They changed the timing belt, the intake manifold, and inspected the AC Compressor, but it still does it.I've been waiting 3 months for the district service manager to come down to look at it, but i'm so frustrated. Please someone help!

I have noticed some simular things happening on my 05 3i but it is not as dramatic. Sometimes when i stop, the car drops to about the same 350rpm and then kinda fluctuates up to about 900rpm and then back down to about 350-400rpm. Does the car ping constantly or just when it drops in rpm?

I might be hearing it more cause i'm tuned in, but the RPM's drop almost like you said, and sometimes it'll shiver like its cold. It sounds like someones taking the belt sound but making it louder, and it doesnt do it right when i stop but it'll do it after about 10-15 seconds later.
