Looking to see if anyone else has experienced this intermittent shifting issue.

Car is an 08 Mazda 3 2.0 with a 5 speed transmission.

Every few weeks the car seems to develop an intermittent issue with shifting into second and third. When shifting into 2nd, it goes into gear fine but when I try to shift into 3rd, the shifter feel stuck in 2nd. If I give it a bump with my palm, it will come out of 2nd and go into neutral, and will then go into 3rd ok.

The same issue occurs when shifting from 3rd to 4th as well. Only happens a couple times then I have no issues at all. Only happens in 2nd and 3rd and no other gear.

The clutch seems fine and there is no grinding at all. Other than the intermittent issue, transmission seems fine, no noise and shifts every gear fine.

Anyone else experience this? Know what the cause was?
