Help with oil change

I want to start changing the oil myself on my 08 five-door but I can't even remove that freakin' panel. The rusty 10mm bolt just turns without loosening, and there's no way to get to the nut (or whatever) on the other side. Not a lot of fun when you're on your backside on a cold garage floor. Any tips?

Jim

Well, there's no nut on the other side. Think I would use vise grips at this point and pull downward while trying to turn the bolt.

Well i have worked at an oil changing place before and u can just pull on the center of the skid plate if u have a strap wrench or filter cup u can get it that way just make sure u have alot of towels because it will make a mess if u wanna avoid the mess try to get some pb blast and and let that sit for about a half hour

have a look, you can cut the oil filter access hole larger and get to the filter that way. You can get to the drain plug with no modifications.
