what i did at the track...

beat 2 eclipses one a 04 4 cy. no mods and the other a 98 4 cy. aftermarket intake and exhaust. first race 04 eclipse i had better takeoff and beat him by idsay a car length is what my friends say the second time i had a horible take off bad reaction time and peeled out still caught up and beat him by like .1 sec.
3rd race was a 98 eclipse gs or rs or w/e and beat him about the same.
btw my reaction time was slower in each race by .5 or more (my first time racing my car so i was nervous). another thing i have a ebay intake and obx headers only done to my car and i saw a vtec civic with intake exhaust headers cam gears and various other thing including the programing on his vtec was set up and everything he runs 16.88 i run 16.94.

It's sad isn't it. But that's what happens when you have a semi-torquie engine and light weight.

With those mods and more practise you should be in the low 16s... unless you're driving an auto.

I wonder what my auto would run with CAI/E/H? Hmmm, I also wonder if I should go ahead and go the FI route...or just buy a WOMP SC?? Choices...choices!

Uh dude........ a super charger is forced induction.

Personally I'm trying to go the sc route because the automatic will handle power better. With the turbo you can get power spikes that will make it harder on the auto trans.

I say WOMP it, and the money you save going reliable super over unreliable turbo you can spend on a Manual tranny.lol. Although, if you do stay auto, which is easiest, it will handle the SC better, as said above, no power spikes and ****.

Thurman's car now has a spec stage1 clutch and 8lb flywheel...I bet he's doing much better now that he's had some practise time.

Yeah going to the track the first time is quite nerve racking and I still like going to time trials on the weeknights just for a little fun I have not stepped in to the racing ring yet but maybe we shall see. When I first stated I was pulling down horrible times until I learned the tree and how to take off right my best to date is 15.4 in the quarter at 93mph.....but I love it it is so much fun..

I'm shooting for low 14's high 13's with my new engine mounts. I should be hitting high 13's once I get everythign re-installed....

Yeah bro, I'm fully aware of that...what I meant was I have a turbo kit that is sitting in the trunk of the 5 right now. I was going to install on my old Eclipse.
I've been talking to Matty prior to this thread about going turbo on the 5. Hence the reason why I mentioned BUYING a WOMP from Mr. Matty....definitely a **** up on my part....i should've been more specific.
