I love that remote turbo setup, tho...I can't see how the lag would be lol.

How often were you replacing the turbo with that anti lag setup?

I kid, I kid. But yeah, that couldn't have been good for the ol' turbines.

Why are you selling her?

So I finally got a camera for the mount I've had for months. I'm really happy with the video. Youtube gayed it up a little with it's compression, so the sound's a little choppy, but what can you do?

Anyway, this last weekend was our final points event and the champion of champions event. I took home 1st in STS2 on Saturday. After video review, I left entirely too much time out on course. Way more than usual, but what can you do. It was good enough, right?

Anyway, here you go:
Run #2 - Clean run

Run #3 - DNF early? d0r1ft0 late! Not really, just got a little squirrely in the middle of the left hand sweeper at the end.

Run #4 - Clean run, good enough for 1st place in STS2. Wrapped up 2nd overall in points for the season. I'll take that for my first full season autocrossing

Champion of Champions videos:

Morning Run #3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fD3saEnaaa4
Afternoon Run #1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Pey8oSD2Sg

Is that yellow, or just the tan interior in weird lighting?

looks like a lot of fun, the mount worked well!

Reason # 1039456134097 to move to Arizona: longer autocross seasons. last event here was september :P

for whatever mazda decided that the rest of the interior should be black or tan, except that 1 strip across the top of the dash. That one strip should be yellow. Why? No body knows. Maybe that type of plastic didn't color right / faded quicker? I'm not sure, but they've always been a little off color.

But yeah, it doesn't vibrate hardly at all for having zero isolation. I'm going to have some rubber around there next season between the mount and the roll bar.

my 'mount' vibrates like hell. then again, it's a tall tripod, legs extended into the crevice between the lower and upper halves of the back seat, with the mast crammed between the back of the front seat and the headrest, which has to be put on backwards for it to work.

I'd get one of the simple aluminum brackets that mounts to the passenger seat between the seat and headrest but have you ever noticed how much the P5 passenger seatback moves when no one is sitting in it? that would be horrible video

I should just weld a bracket under the hood with a pole that attaches through a hole in my hood vent. Then you'd get engine noise too plus the loudest recorded blow off valve noise evar

yeah, you just need to find some place solid to mount it. I figured that since mine was pretty solidly mounted to the roll bar of a car with 550#/in springs, stiff motor mounts, tires w/ stiff sidewalls, etc etc, it would vibrate like a *****. Guess not lol

just vibrates as much as the whole car does. What is it like with 550# springs on the street? Most of the time it feels like my care barely even has suspension or bushings at all, and that's with 179#/145# lol

I have more 'problems' on the street with it being so low than with the spring rates. I've got very well matches shocks tho. Spring rate isn't as big a factor to ride comfort as people make it out to be (unless, of course you're on boxcar springs).

Speaking of boxcar springs going to 700f/450r next year (from 550f/375r currently)

Yeah the s-techs pair with my tokico HPs a lot better than the crap goldlines did, which improved the ride quality dramatically. I think there's only so much a sporty suspension can provide when you have 205/40-17 tires

I might step it up to the illuminas but if I spend money on new struts again when I don't need new ones this time, I might as well go for coilovers --it seems logical
