Please go back and delete your threads in the first and second gen sections. Duplicate posting isn't allowed or needed. I've already deleted the 3rd gen thread. This topic belongs here and here alone.

Thanks for your cooperation

What's it matter? Not everyone reads this section.....and I didn't duplicate them. I did them all seperately, and they're all different.

I was over at National Trails Speedway over the summer and made a few passes. My first one was 17.571@78.85mph, and the second one was 17.758@78.03. Not too bad since I'm running a bone stock 03 protege es.

If you go up to 'browse' you can hit mazda, then Protege5. It's its' own section. The only posted is cruisinblackP5 from www.toprotege.com club(which I'm a member)

Gotcha, thanks.

In looking at your mods in yoru sig, you dyno'd at 111? Did you get a base run first?

I didn't have the chance to dyno it without the mods. I figured 3hp for the muffler, and 3hp for the power steering removal. So, maybe baseline would have been 105.

I just dynoed my car today with my new custom exhaust. Full 2.5" with hi-flow cat and resonator, with OBX 2.5" muffler(different one) from the manifold back. Got me 3 peak horsepower, and a max gain of 5hp@7000rpm. At minor loss of 2.5hp@2500rpm...but who cares? Then we played with Ignition timing, and brought it up to 18 degrees total advance. Good for another 1.5hp and 1lb/ft of torque. So I'm sitting at 115whp and 109 lb/ft of torque.

Thanks for the info. Not to be rude, but for those kinds of gains I think I'll spend my money on suspension upgrades for the autocross.

It's not the gains NOW that are important. My exhaust sets me up for larger gains when other mods are made. Since the exhaust manifold is so restrictive, I can only make so much power from exhaust. Once the header is done, it'll take full advantage of the exhaust work. I'm sure I'll get another 5hp when that's done. And when my headwork, intake, cams etc are done, the exhaust definitely won't be the bottleneck.

You want power? Power costs money, and when you skimp, you're only cheating yourself. I autocross too, and my car's already faster than any of the P5s.

I went to Morosso race speedway in Florida and my best time in my 03 Mazdaspeed was 14.8 at like 95.5 mph. I was running 10 psi boost.
