Exclamation CSCC Event#2 - Los Angeles

I missed out on the Saturday Practice...so here's Sundays rundown.

Again with the rain!!!!, atleast this time is was in our favor, as STS ran 5th and the rain let up early enough for us to have a relatively dry track...mostly dry except for a few scattered puddles and a few slippery wet spots. The event was help at The California Speedway in Fontana, CA. With the winds and dust there, even on a dry day, it's slippery, the rain turned the dust to mud and just as slippery.

My first run was a disaster...spin #1 just into the second slalom, it was a fast entry, but the course was still wet and i tried to save it, but just let it spin, when it wagged again...no DNF as i entered where i left...then on the back section, i spin again in a dry spot, but just after a wet spot....DAMN! i edge it around the cone as to not DNF again and made it to the finish....EGAD! - 96.xxx...

Run 2, was better, the course a bit drier and me a bit more edumicated...i decided to take a wider turn in after the second slalom into the last 180 turn to come back, MISTAKE!!! track was still wet and muddy, and i drifted into the turn...had to gas it or i would have hit cones...80.xxx

Run 3 was much better, i was more confident from run 2 so i really pused hard...clean run and got a 76.xxx

Which got me 2nd place in Novice!! and a trophy I would have placed 5th in regular STS class, just one place from a trophy there...

The results have not yet been posted.

IIRC David eeked out Will K. by .025 secs driving Will's car. I think they're times were in the low 70s. I'm sure David can post the times.

All in all, it was a great day of racing...

The new pic in my signature, is from this event.

I got a 70.624 to Will's 70.649. And with the new trophy structure (1 for 3, 2 for 5, and 1 for each 5 after that, and you would have made it 20), you actually would have gotten into the last trophy position in STS.

BTW, here's the winning car, a Protege Hatchback
