So I think this spring I am going to try to make it to the track for an open weekend, but I have no idea what kind of helmet I need. The rules say I need a "Snell M or S helmet, 1990 or newer". What is this? Where do I get one? How much are they? Do I need to get fitted for one or anything? If anyone in area would possibly be interested in meeting up, please get a hold of me. I would love to have a local meet one of these days. Here's the track's website:

go to your local motorcycle shop and test fit a few and pick one up....that's what I'm doing.

 

Cool. I already have a pretty nice dirtbike helmet, maybe that will work. What do the Snell M and S ratings mean? Do you think a fairly new (bought within the last 2-3 years) motorcycle helmet qualify for this?

 

i dunno myself....ask at your local shop, see what they say
