Another STS Win!!

Latest update on the STS build-up of my 2000 ES.

Current setup- Bilstein Shocks, K&N drop-in, MP3 Muffler, Kartboy shifter bushing, AWR 21.5 rear bar, 15x6" Miata wheels with 205-50-15 Falken Azenis.

Raced in Jacksonville, FL today. I took the class win beating out the GrassRoots Motorsports Honda Civic Si (driven by one of their new guys) by 2 seconds.
Per Shroeder drove the Grassroots Civic on some "testing" runs for their magazine article (but did not count for regular competition). He ran .3 faster than my fastest time (my time was 45.1- he had 44.8). I probably could have caught the 44.8 time, but I don't know how much time he left out there. In competition, he ran a 44.6 in his GS Celica.
I don't think the Civic Si (newest model) would be the car to have in STS, but its good to know that I am so close to a well developed and, to my knowledge, fully prepared, STS car.

So far, so good!
Next step- Coilovers. I got them in the mail yesterday, but didn't have time to install them for the race today.

That is good news. Congratulations

I'd imagine after some development time with those new coilovers, you should be really, really fast.

Good driving.

PS - No more expensive Hoosiers?

Great driving.

Yes, that Civic Si is pretty much maxed out for STS rules last I checked GRM's project page and mag. Customized GroundControl suspension, relocated battery, shaved BFG KD's, forged Volk rims ...

Here's hoping you can continue to stay ahead of that mini-van.
