The Rev It Up area was the first place I went after we checked out the Solo II area. Drove the Mazdaspeed Protege first.. yep, there's the torque steer.. nice shifter, felt smaller than the P5. Everyone was in line for the 6-speed Miata, so we walked around the exhibits, then headed inside the track for the regional races. Only saw one Protege racing in one of the early class races, really enjoyed the SM/SRX7 race that ended the day.

Went to the lot, got the P5 and drove back over to the Rev It Up area, and wife drove the Miata 6sp, then we decided to drive the 6S. This car really surprised me. Drove the autostick version, car took off faster than I expected, hit the limiter in 1st. Pretty fun car to drive. Lots of body roll, but a good bit of accelleration to offset that (IMHO)..

It had been a while since I've checked out the Mazda scene and SCCA racing. Bought a Mustang GT and it's been consuming a bit of my time while the wife enjoys the P5.

Had fun, and would be up for a DFW meet if someone wanted to organize it.

Hey!

I was out there pretty much all Day Saturday... I saw a ton of various proteges (protegi??) out in the lot... Including a younger couple in a Spicy orange that I cruised next to on 35W on the way home and exchanged a wave with (I was in a gunmetal 1st gen Rx7)

What did the rest of you guys run for the comp? my bext was a 34.0XX and a 568 score. Those 6's handle very well, and you gotta love the torque. If they bring the wagon over here, I may just have to make a trade

Oh yes, the Mazdaspeed rock! with the one exception that the shifter is too far down to the floor... I think I need a turbo now..
