Ok as a continuation of this post . KDAWGONE(Kris) has been in talks with CF Technologies?XR8ED Lidds.. and has managed to get us the Carbon Fiber hoods at a nice cheaper price.

Anyhow I will post the prices in nice clear detail below for all to see but I will first link the pm that was sent to me by kris so you can have an idea of what is going on...

Here's the latest on the CF hood project (I just got off the phone with CF Technologies?XR8ED Lidds):
We need an original hood to make a mould. I cant use mine becaue of the hole for the scoop. I propose to have everyone chip in for me to buy a used hood from the wreckers.
XRL needs 50% down of the total cost of 10 hoods (Corksport is gonna get the last two).
The price of the hoods will be $600CDN which is $50 cheaper than with iON. For a colour weave hood, add $50 CDN.
The turn around time will be apporximatly 2.5 weeks to make a mould. After that, they can produce one hood every two days.

Also, XRL is currently going to be producing a cf bumper splitter (half bumper and full bumper w/ downforce hinges) as well as a CF license plate (to use instead of your plate at shows)

I spent about 45 mins on the phone with the owner Mark and he is very gung-ho about this project!

BTW, at the Darknight Nationals that I was at on the weekend, there was this Clarion 95 Eagle Talon with a CF hatch, hood, and dash that were all one-offs done by XRL...VERY TIGHT!

So what are we looking at ...

1. we need a spare hood. so we are going to try and source one out of a junkyard ... Kris has found one that will cost 270 CAD/196.18US .. and we are all just going to have to split the cost of the hood .. which should equal out to 30CAD/21.79US bucks a person .. this is divided by 9 people .. being as Corksport will purchase 2 hoods.

2. The Price of the hoods will be 600CAD/435.95US..
The Color weave will be $50 dollars extra...
They will need approx. 50% down. I and Kris will have to email CFT, and figure out our payment methods. I am also in the works of preparing the word document with everyones addresses to be forwarded to CFT.

3. I am in the process of sending out emails to all of you with the link to this page and some extra info that may need to be extended to each of you individually.. If there are any questions that you may have or want to ask feal free to email me or Kris(KDAWGONE)

Nope. Thats great Bruce! Im also gonna see if they can do a hood with the JDM scoop as well using my JDM scoop as a mould (but that may not work out, so, dont count on it)....

will they be putting on the latches? like the hook at the front.. getting a different lid would make my wanting to change to pins instead of a latch that much easier..

naturally a latch would have to be included. if you wanted to put pins in . then you would have to install those on your own ....

As far as payment...
I have to talk to Kris and see when is good to start the collection, and also what method will be used . Paypal is a good source but they charge you to recieve cash .. but then they can convert money to CAD currency wich would make all our lives easier ..

People could send in money orders, also .. we would have to speak to the company, maybe we can send the money directly to them ..

since we would be investing a good amount of money into these hoods, i was wondering if there would be a warranty on these hoods?
what if it were to break within a month? upon shipping? etc...

so when is this hood deal going to get rolling? even the initial 20-something dollars hasn't been due...to pay for the donor hood. i've already begun to spend my cash on other stuff(momo ****, custom color carpet, and soon jdm bumper and slotted/drilled rotors, and carbon brake pads).
anyone out there ready too?

well we will figure it like this ...
If the guy doing the hoods does not want to accept direct payments.
Then I will have to have you guys just mail me the money for the hoods.
I am wondering , should I just have the spare hood money sent to me and then I will send it to Kris ..
thing is we would have to use money order, because cheap *** paypal makes you pay for recieving money..

OK , I am going to collect the money for the donor hood and send it over to kris.
I really don't want to use paypal , being as they charge me to revieve money.
