Hey all. Just got some interesting info from my local dealer. They just got news from Mazda that the MP3 replacement is going to be available (very limited numbers initially) around the end of August/ early September. Also, they've been told that there will be a larger selection of colors (4 or possibly 5) and that it will be supercharged instead of turbo'd. When I asked them what happened to the port installed turbo kit plan, they told me that had been the initial plan, but that Mazda told them they were going back to the idea of a factory installed supercharger.

My salesperson has already gotten his sales manager to agree to sell him the first one, so I guess working there has it's perks. Anyone else heard this news? My dealer has been right before and they work pretty closely with Mazda USA as they sell a lot of Proteges including 6 MP3's. They just got in a 2001 MP3 today that Mazda USA got for them. It's a sales tool and has never been privately owned, but is technically used since it has 18k on the clock. I think they already have it sold though. If not, my saleman will be calling me!

 

I was at a Mazda dealership the other day, and the master tech guy mentioned something about the supercharger. I doubt it though, since they've already listed the specs on Mazda USA's website. That's like teasing people. I'll believe it when I see it. I think it's though.
