Mazda6 Web Info

Just a heads up in case anyone missed it: The Mazda USA web site finally has information on the Mazda6 more prominently posted.

Check it out!

You've gotta love the jet engine sounds they added to the first video (which is a new one, by the way).

Thumbs down Stereo Problems!

In reading through their write up, indeed it looks like the stereo and climate control modules are combined into one unit. Some folks theorized about that in other threads, and they're right: It's going to suck trying to get an aftermarket stereo in there. ****!

I like the idea behind it-- Reducing additional sources of rattles, squeaks, and such, but I kind of wonder if limiting people's stereo choices is a good marketing move. There'll probably eventually be aftermarket units that are designed for the 6, but given that Mazda doesn't sell the numbers that, say, Honda sells, it'll be a long time before anything else is available over the stock unit. That sucks.

Other than that, dare I say I'd much rather have that car than my Pro-- Just wish I could afford it... But it'll probably be in the high 20's for a well equipped one, unfortunately. Anyone by chance know what the target price for it might be?

Car and Driver... $19k - $22k

Of course, those prices won't reflect the Mazdaspeed 6.

They just took this mini-site from the Mazda Japan site and translated it into English. I wonder when we'll actually see the American production version.

Actually, most of the pictures they show is of the North American version of the car. The North American version of the hatchback gets the big chrome accent on the grill, rather than the color-keyed grill which looks so cool.

Anyways, they posted three screensavers on their mini-site. I downloaded all three, but I have the say I like the second one the best!

The colors are listed on the first page discussing the Mazda 6's design. It is the last paragraph on this page. However, the colors are not visible, but the reading is very interesting!
