cute car, i assume this is the successor to the Demio?
man, if the Mazda2 looks this good, I can just imagine how good the Mazda3 will look!
curiously, I have yet to see a production picture of the Mazda3, and it's less than a year away from coming out!

Yes, you are correct. This is the new version of Demio. Not sure if they will import this to the US or not though.
But if they do, small cars (or cars aimed for new college students) like Geo Metro, Echo, Mirage, Escort, Cavalier, Sunfire, Saturn S-series, will be in deep trouble.
I bet Mazda is going to throw out another great package with this car again like they did to other models.

I saw one in the parking lot at MAzda R&D back in September. The day before Sevenstock...
From a distance I thought it was a MPV, the i realized it was the size of a Protege.
Looks neat, they intend to woop some PT Cruiser and Matrix/Vibe but with it I bet...

thoes pics are from a newspaper pulisher in Hong Kong (the most amazing place on earth)
in asia there isn't much space and roads aren't as long and big and therefore there are all these new cute small cars out now.... not much power... maybe around like 110hp max top of the line.... average model like 70-80hp.... you guys here must all be like saying WTF?? only 70horses??!? yea well asia isn't a big place, they don't have huge freeways like here where everybody goes crazy...
but yea I think these new type of cars look totally cool! but i'm not sure how the average ppl (not ppl on this msg board) will accept these radical type of cars....
like when they introducded the toyota echo here they had to make a sedan version that doesn't even exist in Japan.... because preconception of ppl here is that they think that hatchbacks are for poor ppl... and rich ppl drive sedans...
compared to the hatch version the sedan looks like crap.

i don't think these cars will ever make it big into the us market....
1) not enough power compared to other US cars
2) easily bullied by SUVs and Pickups
3) general public don't give a damn what they drive as long as it moves and is named a civic

Hey ZoomZoomH, of the topic, I want to ask you about your RX-7. (obviously I saw your signature)
How's the condition of it?
It still drives well? What do you think about it?
Is that RX-7 the one with Rotary engine?
Does that make it hard to maintain?

keep in mind neither of those country has enough PAVED ROADS to need any go fast cars (most of the roads are in the city), nor do most of the residents have enough money to buy gas guzzling SUVs

what I mean by asia is specifically South East Asia, like Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, etc....
only the rich people can afford cars in these countries because gas is so expensive..... and they don't need SUVs or TRUCKS either because they live in a civilized world with nicely paved roads.
.... most residents in the US don't have enough money to buy SUV's either...
