won't happen. insurance companies are all about making money. refusing to insure modified cars would put a huge knock in their business. Also tell me the technical difference between modifying a towncar into a stretch limo and modifying a protege into a solo II beast. not much...if anything the limo is more heavily modified and doesnt perform up to manufacturers specifications. If done correctly and with quality parts, a sport compact exceeds manufacturers specs. I can see from a legal standpoint though if it wasnt declared and a car had an aftermarket turbocharger and stock brakes, then failed to stop in time and got in a wreck, and the insurance company denied the claim.
