Fuel Cut

Hello all, If some one would help me on a matter i would appreciate it.
Does anyone know about the fuel cut for the 89 probe/626/mx6?
What controls it and can it be bypassed?
Is it controled by the VAF or other sensor(s)?
Any info would help. Thank you in adavnce

i should have clarified. i need to know about the fuel cut out for the 89 turbo 2.2l
what controls it?
the VAF or a series of sensor inputs for the ecu?

Fuel Cut

If you are talking about the "Top Speed" limiter (about 130 mph), on the '89 MX-6, it is actually built into the speedometer! When the needle gets to a 130, it closes a contact and turns off the ECU. Very primitive.

The earlier ('88) Turbo cars did not have the limiter, and I did remove this limiter on a '89 MX-6 back during this time.

A long time ago in a place far far away.

Boost Cut

My memory tells me it was a calculation done by the ECU, based upon RPM and Airflow readings. I could be wrong, because I had to be careful with boost readings. They could not go over 10 PSI for the class I was racing so the boost cut was not a real factor.

We got some amazing power out of this engine, at modest boost levels. The best I remember seeing was 225 hp and 280 ft lbs of torque. This was all done through a cat too, with "stock" everything.
