Well, I am sure many of you cannot wait untl it is your turn to drive the 6 and I can tell you it is worth the wait. Day starts off with your 25 min chalk talk which is just a brief overview about racing, motorsports and safe driving. After that you are free to do what you want until your first Competetive run. However, there are three quick practice runs: slalom, cornering and braking and a drive line track which teaches you about cornering. Then it is off to the track. The competition cars are fitted wth eibachs and bosal mufflers. The sound of the car is intoxicating, mellow tone outside the car and a smooth rumble inside, especially pulling 5000 rpms. The eibachs do not do much for the ride on the track, to be effective you would need stiffer struts. Anyway, the course is fairly low speed, I never looked at my spedometer but I would say I never went faster that 65 mph. The cars handling was incredible, everything the reviews said is was going to be. Instead of rambling on my results were fairly average. My best run 435 point which anybody could take a look at on mazdarevitup.com type in last name of Hagel. One more last note. Fast does not mean good. I had a problem keeping my foot off the gas and I would have done much better if I would have. Like they say, enter a corner slow and exit fast. That was the best advice that I heard all day.

I doubt the speeds got much over 50mph. The cars I drove in the competition did not stop as well as the regular car used in the braking area (all on Azenis).

I would have needed to go 0.7 sec faster to win, and I know exactly where that time was out on course. Had I not trusted the brakes (which in the braking practice and on the practice course cars were phenomenal), I would have stopped sooner and not overcooked the ends of the course. I would up in 11th place.

If you do it in your city, hope that they can't find a local hot-shoe autocrosser to set the Pro time. In LA, they did. In the SF area, they had a NASCAR truck driver set one, and the two guys who finished 1-2 ran after someone slower than the truck driver set the time.
