Evo or MSP?

Alright. I have a debate going on in my mind. I know what I like and I'm really into Mazda and my Pro. But...I think I might want to consider another car (newer anyway) and I've always had a thing for the Lancer Evo since my brother introduced to me to that type 3 1/2 yrs ago. My car at that time was a Mitsu Mirage. I've since lost it and have been in my pro for the past 40k mi or so. The car is mine and I plan on keeping it but my miles are really creeping on me. So the thought of another car entered my brain last year and after getting a new and better paying job, I now know what I can safely afford. What should I think about more: 2003 evo viii or 2003.5 msp? the evo runs $10k more but we all know what it has. However with the msp I would then have a family of pros, right? What do y'all think???

It all depends on what you want to do with the new car. Mitsu is really bad about voiding warinties if they think you moded or raced it. They are clean cars. The MSP is cool but will never be really fast because of the transmition. 230+whp can kill it. This last weekend I went to a meet and all of the MSPs that were modded non dynoed over 210whp. The P5 that had hiboost or other kits also had less than 220whp. I think that is a good number but still slow to all the other stuff out there.
I say wait and get something that is less popular. LOTUS ELIS! wishing!!!!

There are pros and cons to both.

Here where I live there aren't that many evos. driving around s a ill maybe see one or two a day. the thing is with the evo i dont think i would do anything to it; just leave it stock i guess. i did read about the msp not being able to handle more add-ons and so that kinda bogged me out. the evo has been my sort of dream car. sure i'd like a ferrari but i'm not rich and i think the evo is more user friendly as far as maint. is concerned. besides, are there really that many evos around our parts (austin to san anton)?

Cool. Thanks for the replies. The thing is I would love to make my current pro really quick too. Juan's Hiboost kit sounds very intriguing! I think that would put my ride up there especially around town. Right now my car makes me happy because I know I get looks. But it's more show than go. MY dream would be to have the evo dubbed "Big Brother" and my pro "Lil Brother" with some sort of decal on the windshield. Yeah a light body kit with that sweet-looking wing from Wings West on my pro would be aaawwweeesssooommmeee!!!

Odd Question, Evo or MSP, MSP is a cool car and mad nice, but a Evo is a EVO!

If we have to explaine what a Evo is or why its better then a MSP (I know you know, but maybe not well enough, your comparing it to a MSP) you should maybe consider other cars (I hate watching old ladies driving CLK 500's)

If you got the bank, get the Evo, if you bought a MSP and think you can mod her up with the money from the price diference, thats a pipe dream, Its sad to say, that even with tons of bank added to the MSP, SHE IS STLL VERY LIMITED. ******* ***** engine in her (pepy as hell, but prone to POP)

The Evo your already starting with 280hp, and there ARE TONS OF AFTERMARKET PARTS FOR HER, unlike the MSP. And you can mod her to some serious HP levels and NOT POP your motor. Aswell as Power, the Evo has tons of other traction control systems and so on that squash the MSP. and is capable of serious track times

The HKS CF Evo is like the time trial Champ (the Signal Auto Skyline is too, one is for Japan the other if for the states, Im not sure witch is witch) But that HKS CF Evo is Bad A$$

MSP or Evo

EVO HANDS DOWN!!!
