boy this was fun.

. I've come to the conclusion the people that owned my G6 GT before I got it didn't take care of it well because the car was very dirty when I got it and now its about to throw a rod. wow. my uncle is a pro mechanic at a car dealership told me this problem couldn't have been avoided no matter what I did because the damage was already done and was just a matter of time before it happened.

I was out of town for the day and as soon as I got off the highway to get on the street to my house I came to a stop and the car shut off. I started it back up and it sounded like there were a thousand fire crackers under the hood of this car. I limped it back home and then had it looked at. I just got this freakin car but I suppose I can't complain cause I only paid 5K for it.

Engine had 80K miles on it and the engine now says poof.
However. I'm getting another 3.5 V6 put in it with only 30K miles on it for 2500.
Not bad but when did engines become soo expensive? I've priced new engines for my truck for 1/4 of that price. oh well.

Getting the G6 back at the end of the week and ready to enjoy a fresh engine.

this ever happen to anyone?

Mediarocker is an unknown quantity at this point
Newer engines are really pricey. Mass produced engines like the Chevy 350 are cheaper.... but alot of them come crate setup for carbs.

I was just glad I was able to find one and with only 30K on it at that! I know one thing tho. That little 3.5 V6 will fly. destroyed M3s and V8 mustangs all day lol. I don't have as heavy of a foot as I used to so I didn't get blamed too bad when the motor dumped out on me. lol. oh well. only paid 5k for the car plus 2k for a motor. after all that, still coming out cheaper than If I had bought it on a lot. haha :P

It should be back any day now. The dealership it is at is taking way too long. Ive took out and put the engine back in my old protege in a few hours before. blah oh well. I'm just ready to get my pretty little G6 GT back.

I also have a 2003 taurus(my girlfriends old car) that I'm about to drop a SHO engine in. that will be my really fun car. I just need to find one.
