What can I use for piping??? I was thinking of maybe getting some silicone hose, but I cant find any in 2 1/4". Does anybody know where to get good silicone hose that will hold up to boost?? I dont really want to go metal cuz I done have the $$$.

$3,324.61.....that should cover it, and I get paid wednesday so it will go up even more. I just dont want to spend the $$ on mandrel bent pipes, I would much rather put that $$ into something else if possible. So... back on track.... does anybody know where I can get them and if they will hold up to the pressure.

Ya think Einstein??? I know how a turbo works, how to install a complete system, rebuild and existing system, and how to properly tune a system. BUT.... I have never looked into the possibility of using Silicone Hoses to cut costs. I will go w/normal pipes if its the best I can get for the $$(it usually is), but I just want to look into other possibilities. So.... has anybody know where to get stuff like this and if it will hold up??? Thanks.

We make a set of mandrel bent pipes for our intercooler systems. Trust me, go to a few exhaust shops or JC Whitney and buy some u-bends and make some pipes. If you want our kit its $1100.

Last I heard from you via a post was that your 1.6L was in the body shop, and that once it got back you would have it ready within a week.

I'm interested in the turbo kit, but I'm not giving you cash until you have a proven product.

Last I heard on that car it was MIA, if you want to be the first one for the kit I don't see a problem in having the kit finished. Since this is not the topic of this thread we will discuss it elsewhere.

I agree with others regarding pipes bieng an important part of the system. If cost is really important check out miata.net forums and some guys use copper piping from home depot. Some systems actually looked realy nice....just an idea

 

hmmm copper piping sounds very suspect. I can't beleive it wouldn't be almost as expensive as iron or alluminum piping being that 2.5" doesn't seem like standard size. Also, I do beleive copper would be very, very suseptible to corrosion or otherwise reacting with fumes, oil spatter, or anything alse that goes on under the hood. The cost of mandrel bent alluminum piping is cheap for such a proven application.
