A Turbo I a nice way to go if you have about $3000 plus dollars...

I took the nitrous route...I have a NX kit...It's jetted to a 50 shot...

My suggestion to you is to definetly get a wet kit...you will get more HP and torque... (such as NX)

Also...to get Spark Plugs that are atleast 1 step colder...

Run High Octane Fuel...Atleast 91.....to be safe...

And not to run over a 50shot of wet...Most people who go higher wind up w/ problems...

Also i would suggest to get a bottle heater...I don't have one and it's winter...and it really sucks b/c i cannot get the full potential of a 50 shot!

Good Luck!

Nos is cool But it runs out. I would suggest getting a vj20 turbo and manifold and building up a turbo protege u can do the swap for around 2000 have 200whp all the time and u can still use nos for a extra 50 shot if that mustang almost beats u ...Jon

Cool

Nos
I think you mean Nitrous Oxide...b/c Nos mean Nitrous oxide System (which is a manufacturer)

To be pushing 200 whp you will need a new clutch, intercooler... an FMU...and a ton of fabricating to fit the intercooler!

Not to mention that you would need a bov...turbo timer...and much other things...

And still you willl need dyno time (which is not cheap) to test and get the correct settings!

I think to get 200whp you really need more than $2000 actually closer to $3000..

Whith nitrous you can add a 50 shot safely (wet of course)...and if you wanted to run a 75shot..you would just purchase that nitrous booster..that is listed on www.ebay.com !

But i wouldn't sugest more than a 75shot without getting some fuel management system upgrade...like getting the ecu reflashed and getting larger fuel pumps....

Stock protege= 130
Nitrous oxide= 75
______
total... 214 horsepower...
or something close to that number...

My suggestion is that if you are not very familiar w/ turbo tuning and installation..you should go w/ Nitrous

My bottle usually lasts about 4 to 5 races...and that's using Nitrous through 4 gears per run...

But good luck none the less...

I know what u need. U will need a motor (1000),Fmic (500), Fuel pump(200),Piping and Bov (300), The clutch i wouldn't count towards a turbo project because ur gonna need it either way with or without a turbo. u will also need gauges and boost controller prob another 350 . So ur looking at around 2000-2500 if u buy it all new. U will have 200 hp all the time ...Jon
