mazdaspeed prot upgrades?
was thinking that since the current turbo is a t25 I think you could add the t28 from the mitsu line of turbo. just an idea since we are going to ned booost controllers and timers, and maybe some nice guages.
what do you guys think will fit that is already in production on current cars?

Right...... just like all those other turbo cars out there that can run higher boost w/o a fuel cut off.

Remember those 'other cars" are built for turbo. the MSP is a STOCK FS-DE motor with a turbo kit slapped on it so they are going to restrict the boost. Super Street tested the MSP in this months issue and by their bosot guage they read 5.2 lbs of boost. as for the other cars try goign to 15 psi on a DSM and see what happens. Their stock is 12

Here is my take on the MS prot. It seems what little reading I have done that mazda may not have upgraded the fuel pump to handle greater amounts of boost. I can't say this for sure since we can't compare stock part numbers yet. thea reason I say this is becuase of what the FM guys are doing with thier P5.
I am also wondering how the drivetrain will hold up to the preasure. Lets also take into account that the engine maynot be built specifically for a turbo, however the stock compression is pretty low, it does have an ECU that can handle a turbo. This is great seeing how I dont think you will need to run a Link or any other piggy back, although an Apexi afc would be need to run larger injectors.
I am still unsure where you get teh idea that turning up the boost will automaticlly invovle a fuel cut from the ecu, now it may detect knock and kill your timming, but i dont think it will run you lean causing engine damage or failure
