Joe P MBC

Ok i finally added the mbc today, got in stepped on it, that bitch went to 10psi. So im like wtf, I kept turning the screw clockwise but it kept boosting to 10 psi, so im like wtf. I went all the way in and it still went to 10. So i turned it counter clockwise and that bitch went to 15psi so damn quick, so im like oh **** wtf. The car shut of i tried starting it again and it did the same thing. I needed my diaper change at this time cuz i was really shiting myself. I poped the hood, looked everything over and notice one of the ic pipe came of. I re-attached it and started the car and it stayed running. Damn i was really scared i thought that was it.

jpmbc are tricky to adjust but a lot of dsm guys are using them and they work. try to turn 1/4 turn at the time.

First off- clockwise INCREASES the boost.. You may have damaged the MBC by overtightening it though if it still does not allow the boost to come back down when you loosen it.. You also have to check the orientation of the MBC- make sure you have the inlet and outlet correct otherwise that will cause it to overboost also..

This is why I always stress to have a professional do the install if you have any questions- you can easily damage your engine if you incorrectly install and setup your MBC.

You can email me directly at- kwiktsi@nycap.rr.com if you have any further questions. Thanks.

yes clockwise increse boost, thats the case at least for my turbonetics MBC....and for mine, 1/4 turn ~ 1psi boost....a full turn will get me close to 4, so adjust conservatively

That is why I said to double check the install and also that it is possible that you overtightened the MBC and either damaged the spring or pushed the top ball out of place from turning the screw in too far. I mentioned that in the email reply I sent you. Let me know if you got it. Thanks.

I got your email, it was not over tighten the spring is fine. I know you said the you are flaming me but i get the feeling that you are calling me a dumbass, your instruction in plain as day my 6 year old can install it. Yes i took it apart like you said yes the damn spring is not damage and yes it is hooked up the right way but it still wants to boost past freaking 10psi. I have triple checked it

Don't take it the wrong way, I agree with you about the instructions, however, you would be AMAZED at the number of customers I have had that just go to a shop since they cannot install it themselves. I have to cover all bases- if I give advice assuming the person knows what they are talking about, they are totally lost, if I give someone with enough sense to know better advise assuming they don't, I insult them.. It is the nature of it I guess .
