I dont think that torque converter would be able to handle more than 8-9 lbs without an upgrade...also the way an auto shifts early the lag would really hurt you...just think as soon as you start to spool it, whoosh!shift...would end up only helpful in 4th gear,unless you manually shift it...(not a good idea,IMO to do this on a auto,especially with more torque than stock)

well if you take Overdrive Off it will become a 3 speed and for the most part it doesn't shift early at all when Overdrive is Off it keeps the Revs around 4K.

Even with overdrive on, if you give full throttle it shifts around 6500. If you give slightly less than full then it shifts a little sooner.
Since I'll assume we are talking about serious acceleration, not light to light traffic, I don't see the problem with shift points.

well said. With the OD off, it never shifts below 6500 rpm under full throttle
