i want car faster- ive seen turbo prices and nitrous pricees and the gigglle juice looks alot better than the turbo on the pocketbook. i want to run a low 45 or 50 hp with the kit- will this put lots of added wear on my car? also - what is a good kit to get for the pro.... whats everyone's opinion?

 

plenty of people have installed the Zex kit with good results. Someone here w/ flaming hair in the sig ( ) is running a 75 shot if i'm not mistaken. Anyhow for the very cheap cost of only 600 bux or less it's a steal. Kindof a hold-you-over till the turbo option in the future.

i've sworn never to use nitrous but the more i think about it since i have the freakin 1.5L i may put that in just for the little extra kick to help out, where i live my car has trouble making it up large hills sometimes and i have absolutely no acceleration on hills of any kind so that would be a nice tide me over until i can put in a better engine.

 

DONT USE A DRY KIT ON THIS MOTOR!!!!!!

ZEX uses a dry system, i dont recommend it, i'd use any WET KIT, Nitrous Express, Nirtrous Works, NOS, they all sell Wet Kits, you'll gain more HP and alot more torque than any pansy *** dry kit, + its safer

Kool, I am from Waco also! Anyway, if you want to run nitrous, there are 2 very important factors to consider. Do you have advanced timing that needs to be retarded, and can your fuel pump supply enough fuel for the application when needed? I had nitrous on my MP3 at the beginning of the year, and it cost me a motor. Why, cause it wasn't done right. I have advanced timing that needed to be retarded, and I don't think that enough fuel was going to the right places when needed. I ended up blowing a hole in the piston in cylinder one. It was a Zex dry setup running a 55 shot. Lesson: Nitrous can work, and will if done properly. Consult an expert.

 

so i guess the real lesson here is only idiots or rich bastards that can afford new engines use dry kits.

 

nitrous hasnt done a damn thing to my motor but make it rev quicker, haha

water got in through the CAI, motor got junked by the ins, got a "new" motor with 7K on it, and my old longblock is sitting in my garage paid 100 bucks for the longblock + intake manifold,what am i going to do with it you say? oh, youll find out... when i get some fuggin cash!

well, i have been running the dry kit on mine since about november. ive only run out about 5 bottles, so not too much. so far, i have noticed no ill effects on my engine whatsoever. just my 2 pennies on that. the dry kit is easy to install and much more user friendly to those not experienced with n20.

my tranny, that was my n00bie shifting skills, my previous car was an automatic, i know, shame on me and my automatic history anyway, semi-common problem, bent shift forks, that was the tranny deal, I think i've run out of things to **** up, haha.


you can use a dry kit, but dyno it next to a wet kit, you wont have near as much torque and most likely less horsepower than the wet kit. I'll stand by that.


I dont recommend Dry Kits on MP3s, runs advanced timing, not very good when using a 65 shot or more. The Regular Protege/Protege5 2.0L doesnt run advanced timing, I smell a 75 shot, wet , just make sure you get a new clutch

so for me( atuo trammy and n2o newbie), should go with a wet kit? my only concern is that this is my only car and i cant **** it all up. or should i steer clear from n2o all together?

what makes nos wet or dry? i found a kit by NOS called sneeky pete KIT CONTAINS: 10 OZ BOTTLE, NITROUS SOLONOID,NYLON NITROUS LINE,9 VOLT BATTERY HOLDER, WIRING & CONNECTORS, ASSORTED JETS. its only $264 I know next to nothing so i'm not sure if this is the kind of system i want or not. any help while i'm looking around would be great.
