Yellow Fogs >:(

I'm sure most of you have seen them, but where do so many people get the fog lights that are like, really yellow.

I have a set of 'yellow' bulbs, and up against my garage, they are much more yellow than the headlights. But on the road, just slightly more so.

Are the car's with the 'mega-yellow' fogs running yellow 3000k HIDs, or just some kind of yellow bulb/overlay combo?

Those really yellow fogs have yellow colored lenses. Applying too dark a film directly to a bulb would likely reduce longevity due to increased absorption and heating of the bulb glass. The fog lens is far enough away from the bulb that it's not an issue.

Rockblocker overlays. They're available in other colors also such as blue and smoked. I have them and they're absolutely awesome. Not sure on the website but just search for rockblocker on Google!

*Edit: Here's the link! http://rockblocker.com/store/36105.htm

I have the same style, but the PlasmaGlow ones (just because of the warranty). Now, when you said 'high beams' did you mean fogs?

Because, I'd expect high beams to be much more noticeable than the little H3 bulbs the sedan uses for it's foglights.
Edit: Yes, it does seem that you are referring to your high beams, as your fogs are very much blue, haha.

As well, mine look yellow, just not as 'intense' as I've seen on some other cars.

I supposed the overlays make sense - extra layer of tint for the light to pass through. Too bad rockblocker only seems to carry P5 ones, I'd need sedan.

i would think rockblocker could send you a "scrap" piece that could be big enough for your fogs, after a little trimming...

Hmm, will do. I'd rather buy scrap pieces and cut them myself if I could save money anyways.

No idea how to email the guys... maybe I'm blind, but I can't seem to find it on their site. Did find they sell bulk film though, so that should do it. Anyone off hand know the approx size of the sedan fogs?

I could go measure them, but I'm at work right now

Hmm, OK. Seems like they sell bulk squared, but $10 to ship 2 4x6 overlays seems like alot. Any suggestions?

Online retailers probably make all their profits on inflated shipping costs. Seriously, they could cut that **** up, put it in an envelope, and mail it to you for less than a dollar!

I know, it's the worst part about living in Canada too. For some reason, retailers think it's Germany or something. Most packages cost nothing more, maybe a few extra bucks, to ship to Canada from the US.

Online retailers treat it as if it's the other side of the earth, with shipping costs between %50 to %100 of normal. The worst are stores that boast free shipping for lower 48, but ask for $100 shipping to Canada. There is no way shipping to Canada is $100 extra dollars. Grrrrr.

But enough ranting! Here's some positive:

I'm willing to start a GB to cut down the shipping. I'll organise it if a few of you want in.
If we can get 10 people, shipping would be $1 each + regular price of the overlay. Better than $5.75 each for shipping
That goes with any order, precut kit or bulk cuts, $1 shipping

Interested?

Example, with smoked headlights, yellow fogs. Optic blue and clear are available as well.

I bet it's cheaper to ship to Alaska than Canada ... sadly

Most vendors go with a 'US shipping = x, Alaska, Hawaii and Canada = y, international - email for a quote'.
