Maxx - aren't you the one who thought about an ALUMINUM WING??????

And you bash this guy for thinking of yellow bits?

Dude - no hostility - just poking a little fun, that's all. Hope you don't do the wing, though.

Nuke and Silva,

He he he, it's all good guys. I've given up on the wing idea. I came to my senses, you can be sure of that! <--- What was I thinking!?!

hey nick,

what would you think of yellow calipers on my car? i was thinking red (it'd be easier coz my bf did his type-R calipers red last year and now he needs to redo them) so he would do mine too...but yellow...now there's an idea!

I always thought that bright yellow would look very nice with either Black Mica or Midnight Blue colours on the proteges........

but please don't touch the mirrors.....

paint the calipers, get the seatbelt pads, racing seats/seat covers, and maybe even the shifter in yellow..... but don't do the mirrors

just a friendly heads-up

I agree with Nuke. The yellow looks tight on a blue car. Just make sure it's a lemmony yellow, not an orangey one if that makes sense.

I thought of that too. Yellow calipers on a blue car would be perfect. (Check the Porsche website, ceramic brakes... they are yellow, very nice)

-------> peeking out of my corner

I would love to do the yellow calipers. Is that caliper paint kit I've read about on the board the way to go? I have not been able to find yellow high temp paint where I live.

Also the guy at the local NAPA Auto parts said that painting the calipers can cause the brakes to seize because they won't disapate heat properly (I think he's full of BS) Opinions out there?

P.S. I am glad that I can entertain you with my inane suggestions. I think I'll forgo the rocker panels and just get a huge MAZDA sticker in yellow and plaster in on the HOOD

Oh and a yellow accent line off-center the length of the car

Oh...of course!!! I am the one that tries to explain to guys the difference between Championship white (on a Type-R) to snow white(on RS). I think I might do that then...Thx all

I definitely agree that the NAPA guy don't know jack, but I don't think our calipers come pre-painted gray. They are bare metal - I'm about 99% sure of this one.

Personally, I plan on using the real-deal stuff - the two-part epoxy paint from Folia-Tec

I know that the hi-temp sprays are okay, and cheap, but the epoxy stuff definitely shines brighter, and it looks really thick and "baked on" when it's done. The sprays are thin - even if you spray it into a bowl and brush the paint on. Plus, the Folia-Tec comes in more colors than the "engine paint". (Including Yellow - but I'm gonna do the typical red - looks good on a silver car, IMO)

I've been talking about doing this for a while - I just gotta get of my *** and do it already.

well I don't know about yours....but MY calipers are NOT bare metal....they have a grey paint or some sort of coating of SOMETHING on them. almost looks like primer except its not a flat finish...sorta semi-gloss looking.

Nuke- u got any pics of yours? I'd swear mine are bare metal - I guess maybe they have a "galvanized" look - they could be coated with something. But mine are definitely not semi-gloss looking, and never have been.

I'm just curious to see what you mean.
