wiring

Definitely. I asked the same question about a mth or two ago. There are rubber, sealed grommets in the firewall from the factory to pass wires through anyways. All you have to do is find them, make a slice & you can pass anything up to 0 gauge through. The one I used was right inside the driver's side, front fender. It's not accessible without taking out the plastic wheel well liner but it's very discreet as the wire isn't visible. I ran a 4 gauge power wire from the battery to my amp under the driver's seat. Someone also mentioned a hole behind the passenger side footwell cover where the ECU resides.

Hey Kano,
I ran my alarm wires thru the firewall using a rubber grommet that already contained some other wires. This grommet is located just to the left of the clutch pedal, and the insulation/flooring has a slot to pull open to expose the grommet. I slid a coathanger thru from the engine side to the driver's floor. Then I duct-taped my wires to the coathanger, sprayed the duct-tape / wd40, and pulled then thru (from driver's floor to engine compartment). The wd40 was a must. If you slide the coathanger thru, file it to a rounded tip so that you dont' scratch the insulation off the wires that are already there.

Hey Guys,
I'm all for doing any mod wiring by the book. I'm new to this whole game so this forum has been rather enlightening. Good suggestions on the use of fuses and relays. Avoiding an electrical problem should be paramount. Parts can get pretty hot and the wiring that comes with these mod parts is not so great.
I'm inquiring at Mazda about shop manuals, specifically one including wiring diagrams. It would be cool if there were an easy way to tie into the wiring harness to add some of this stuff and fuse it properly. There has to be some spare slots in there somewhere...
Looks like I'm heading to Radio Shack and Canadian Tire for some things. I just added a neon tube for my grille and washer nozzle LED's but no fuses for either. You guys have scared some sense into me.
Thanks!
