Wings West EVO Hood

Are the little grates etc. (namely the outboard ones) and the mesh in the middle included with the hood?

I'm skeptical to see what it'll look like unpainted on a red car...

Nick's got a new grad present in mind!!!

The outer vents aren't included but they can be bought, and they are CF. The center grates are included though. The bonnet at the top isn't included though (the two yellow scoops)

Good, I never liked those outer things anyways... And the "wings?"

Thats a good looking hood. I also dislike all the extra scoop and what not. I just can't wait to trade in my pro for P5 or a third gen es.

that ain't a P5 hood... cuz the wingswest pro is a sedan. so the pics u see are from the sedan version. but i think they should fit each other... not sure... but i think they will.

ye i like the hood too.... minus the outer scoops it'll be really cool.... but i don't mind the outer scoops either...

The sedan and P5 share the same hood.

Wings West or any import shop. They can order it for you.

I'm feelin the hood but I am disappointed that the middle is open mesh...which would mean i wouldn't be able to use it on my daily driver Protge..Unless there's a way to enclose the hole underneath the mesh kinda like a window

common sense would definately tell you it's not for a daily driver without some modification... probably a plexi-glass backing on the bottom or something. ya'll know the wonderful problems that can be caused by getting water on your engine, not to mention even if it ain't a daily driver, how do you wash the hood without getting the engine wet? looks real nice, just impractical, would it not?
peace

edit: oh yeah, why the hell would you want the appearance of so many holes in your hood to vent air out? at that point, just take the damn hood off and get rid of it... ideally, i'd like to see something more practical like the first gen 323 Mazdastyle GTR vents on a hood like so, taken from corksport:

or maybe ones like you see on subaru's... something with a mock-ram air look or something, just no giant scoops like you'd see on a muscle car, just something simple. and now i'm going to be an ******* and say, how much rice is too much? wings west was alright with the two center scoops, but becomes the point of tacky with the tack on fins/vents. this is reminicent of the late 60's Chevy Camaro SS with the PURELY cosmetic hood vents that actually were just a bolt-on item onto the hood. hmm, maybe some aluminum APC Formula-1 front bumper wings would help the look... or possibly a fake TT antenna or something.. HA

I agree. (Pay no attention to the fact that most of what he said went over my head.)

Well to my understanding it doesn't come with the gills so if i got this hood it would definately be without the hood scoop's and gills... but IMO this is the best looking CF hood i've seen for the 3rd gen's up to date.
